I am a Multi-instrumental teacher, specialising in Brass. I can also teach Bass and Guitar. I offer 30 minute to 1 hour lessons and can intergrate theory into the lesson if desired. My experience in small groups includes brass quartets, quintets and sextets and jazz bands, rock bands and salsa bands. I have completed a Bachelor of Music degree with a major in Performance on the Trumpet. I love playing music and sharing that love of music with other people by teaching them. My lessons are structured similar to how I would wish students to practice: start with focussing on producing a clear and resonant tone with something simple and slow. Then start to apply that to more technical exercises and pieces. The main goal of my lessons is to teach the student enough about music that they will be able to teach themselves during the week. I encourage memorisation of at least one piece each week.

 

I Teach mainly following the AMEB syllabus but I am happy to use whatever materials you would like to work from. I can also help you learn your ensemble material and prepare you for auditions for bands that you are interested in.

 

Learning an instrument is also a great way to improve your chances of getting a scholarship for a good school.
